I stayed for quite a long time in the Ritz Carlton Jakarta for an EU funded technical assistance program. Four Seasons for long was my favorite after an unforgettable stay in one of the oldest FS hotels (Beverly Hills, Los Angeles US) in Hong Kong where FS at the time opened an ultra modern new hotel. Ritz then was clearly a much more traditional hotel with rooms and public places with lot of dark brownish colors. In Jakarta there are two RC hotels. One very upscale modern luxury at Pacific Place and a more traditional one in Mega Kuningan. For financial reasons (the hotel at Pacific Place is superb but crazily expensive, yet their apartments were, unlike the hotel, hugely unattractive). So in Jakarta  I choose to stay in Mega Kuningan. Just a oasis in luxury, tranquility and a hotel so well managed. Since I became a RC fan I decided when traveling to Seoul to book the Ritz Carlton again. Will blog about my experiences before I go on to Tokyo (also RC by the way).
